Water leakage on rooftops is a persistent challenge, especially when the surface is covered with delicate tiles that owners are reluctant to remove or damage. At COLORFUL INN in Shenzhen, we successfully tackled this problem by applying OUMINGLANG Super DPS inorganic water-based penetrating crystalline waterproofing material — without removing a single tile!
Conventional waterproofing often requires removing tiles to access the substrate for repairs, which is costly, time-consuming, and can damage the aesthetics of the building. Moreover, surface coatings or membranes tend to degrade over time, leading to recurring leaks.
Opening Tile Joints:
Using a blade and angle grinder, we carefully opened the joints between tiles, exposing the concrete substrate without damaging the tiles themselves.
Cleaning:
We thoroughly cleaned the joints to remove dust and debris, ensuring optimal bonding and penetration of the waterproofing agent.
Injection of OUMINGLANG Super DPS:
Using a syringe, Super DPS was injected directly into the joints, penetrating deep into the concrete to chemically react and form a permanent waterproof crystalline barrier.
Mixing with Cement Slurry:
Super DPS was mixed with cement slurry to enhance sealing and structural reinforcement.
Filling Joints:
The cement slurry mixture was again injected into the joints with a syringe to ensure a tight, durable seal.
Surface Coating:
After drying, Super DPS was brushed onto the surface three times to provide additional waterproofing and protection.
Final Cleaning:
Tiles were wiped clean with a wet towel to remove any residue, preserving the rooftop’s appearance.
